General Summary:

Responsible for overseeing and managing training initiatives and related programming in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.



Principal Responsibilities:


  • Develop, plan, coordinate and implement training programs in accordance with current standards including, but not limited to, harassment free workplace, diversity, new team member on-boarding to include on-boarding, departmental training, communication, leadership, service culture and customer service.
  • Develop training plans for, but not limited to New General Managers, Assistant General Managers, MOD, and all guest facing employees.
  • Plan and conduct meetings with General Managers, department managers, and associates to review performance trends, develop action plans and recognize achievement. This will be based off of employee and guest satisfaction surveys.
  • Review, analyze and assess hotel training initiatives and programs and develop or research training solutions to make recommendations to address specific hotel needs, i.e. Coaching Conversations, Employee Engagement, Performance Engagement, Motivating employees to be their best, Time Management, Effective Listening Skills, The art of Effective Communication, and Managing Teams
  • Track, input, maintain and audit all individual team member training records utilizing designated systems and programs
  • Oversee and monitor all departmental training programs including, but not limited to alcohol awareness, food safety, job skills checklists, OSHA Safety Training, Front Desk Check in, Pool Safety, Housekeeping Standards
  • Develop and distribute a training calendar, compile and distribute periodic reports and measurements related to training activity and return on investment
  • Incorporate both Marriott and Hilton existing training programs, as well as Think HR, and BLA current training to better assist with all Training Initiatives



A Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four year college or university strongly preferred; previous hotel and/or Training/HR experience is required.  Must have the ability to travel approximately 10 - 20 % of the time.  Ability to develop an understanding of concepts, practices, pre-established guidelines and procedures used by the company in relation to guest service is necessary.  Computer knowledge including WORD, and EXCEL is strongly preferred.   Must have valid drivers license, and acceptable driving history subject to company approval.
